"Echoes of Harmony" was the title of TAU's 50th anniversary show held on Saturday, September 27 at First Lutheran Church in Topeka. In the first half of the show, chorus members all wore different costumes (see above picture) that had been featured in previous shows, while the second half featured a variety of gold tops in keeping with the golden anniversary. Most of the music had also been recycled from previous decades of performances. The script featured TAU's own Golden Girls, who reminisced between sets about their singing experiences through the years. Classic Edition's queens of harmony sang as the headliner quartet members at the show. Former director Susan Ives directed three of the songs in the second half, while new director Rick Kready directed most of the first half songs. Kready was hired to take over as TAU director at the beginning of September when a recent hire had conflicts with his daytime career as a music instructor. TAU is now concentrating on preparing for holiday singouts and getting ready to tackle a 5-year plan, with Kready's help. Fundraising is also a key focus, as is new member recruitment.
